Chips Ahoy
Ok, so my favorite part about travelling is checking out all the different snackfoods and treats!!! so here's a sampling of the chip varieties available in Taiwan: (see if you can spot the fake flavor)
Lays:
Swiss Cheese (which i find interesting, since "Taiwan" loosely translates to "Land of No Cheese")
Cucubmer
Green Tea
Hawaiian Red Pepper
Alaskan Crab
Seaweed
Chicken
American Classic
Texas Grilled BBQ
Doritos:
Fiery Garlic
Golden Cheese
Nacho Cheese (i know we have these, but I am curious about the diff. between the two cheeses!)
American Taco
Seafood Platter
Pringles:
Japanese Teriyaki
Seaweed
Sweet and Sour Pork
Chicken
Spicy Mango
Italian Bruschetta
I am thining of having a chip tasting party when I come back. What do you guys say? Should I get one of each flavor?

I'm going to go with Italian Bruchetta as the fake flavor. But pick up a sampling for us for sure. We can eat the crumbs if they survive the trip back.
I vote for Hawaiian Red Pepper as the fake. And, I'm particularly interested in trying the seafood platter Doritos. I'll host the party!
Wrong and wrong! those are both real flavors!!!! i'll be sure to bring some back with me. i'm trying to wait till the last possible minute to buy then to avoid crumblage.... and i better hurry and get the seafood platter doritos ... they are limited edition!
cucumber is a real flavor! it's part of the 'cool' collection by Lays, which also includes green tea. oops i guess i just gave away that green tea is real. last night i bought the sweet and sour pork ones to bring home, and i already have the seaweed pringles -- i'll pick another pack for super rob.
and alaskan crab is way real! so is texas BBQ! johnny explained that they include state names in the flavor to make them appear more authentic/american! that's why plain is called 'american classic.'
so keep guessing ... the fake flavor is still out there ...
nepot wins!!! although johnny, my taiwan native friend, thinks it's a brilliant flavor idea and says we should submit it. he'll help with the paperwork ...
let's just say i am fine with the name 'american taco' because i tasted these chips and they just don't taste mexican at all.
