The Heaven of 7-11s

Every day we start off with a trip to 7-11, which are on every corner like Duane Reade's in NYC. They have everything we need for the day: water, candy, gum, chips, phone cards and of course there is extra incentive to buy things since there's a huge promotional tie-in to celebrate the 30th birthday of HELLO KITTY! with every $75 purchase (about $2.50 U.S.) you get a collectible Hello Kitty magnet -- collect all 33! One commemorating each year of her happy existence, and three special edition ones!

So if anyone out there (Kara, Matt) is concerned about turning 30 (Kara, Matt) just remember the eternally youthful and cute hello kitty ... she's a savvy 30 year old too! i feel younger already.

Day 4- Heading South

Enjoyed another pre-breakfast of powerbar dipped in PB before having a regular breakfast of Rice Soup w/ peanuts and fresh fruit. We loaded the bus and came to a stop at the Aboriginal store. Did you know the Aborginies are indiginous to Taiwain? i do now .... They have a nice store with their native history and foods store.

As i was walking around the store i noticed them following me and staring. finally, i stopped to talk to classmate eric and one of the workers comes over and tries to talk to us. we have no idea what she's saying but she's pointing to her eyes and then wiggling her fingers. eric says she likes my eyelashes, which is interesting since there were humidity issues in my room last night which wreaked havoc on my mascara this morning -- it looked like two tarantuals had decided to nest on my eyelids! anyway, i bet they would get a load of tammy faye baker!
